IREM DALLAS COLLEGE CASE COMPETITION

Undergraduate students from universities across Texas come together for 2026 IREM Case Competition—an immersive, six‑week challenge where students step into the role of real‑world property managers to develop a full property management plan for a recently acquired retail asset.

This competition is more than an academic exercise — it’s a hands‑on opportunity for students to apply market analysis, financial modeling, operations strategy, and creative problem‑solving to a real asset.

This year’s case property is The Hill (8021–8041 Walnut Hill Lane), offered as the location to be evaluated by Kobalt Investment Company.  IREM member coaches are paired with each university team, guiding them weekly as students analyze the property, identify opportunities, and craft innovative solutions. Final presentations by all teams will take place Friday, October 30th at 23Springs, where students will present their full property management strategies to a panel of industry leaders.

The winning team receives a $5,000 cash prize, donated by Expert Services and paid directly to the student team members.
